Android Experience – Kickass!
by subhramani on Nov.06, 2009, under Tech Stuff
In my previous blog entry, I had mentioned about the ‘G-phone’ which I wanted to buy. Well, here I am with a HTC Hero also called as the G3 (I guess) which is one of the G-phones.
HTC Hero is a smartphone which runs on a linux based operating system called Android which is developed by Google. Before I bought this phone, I did a lot of research and compared a lot of phones, though I was mostly after the iPhone and the HTC Hero. I have just mentioned a few things I loved about the phone. I have not compared the phone with any other phone, so I wont be mentioning the pro’s and con’s or anything like that.
1. Touch screen which supports multi touch (whatever its called).
2. HTC Sense UI lets you customize the phone the way you want with widgets and folders.
3. There are a lot of applications for almost everything available straight from Android Market.
4. Integrated social networking apps like Facebook and Twitter.
5. Syncs completely with your Google account. Syncs all contacts and emails.
6. Supports Adobe Flash, within websites. This is the only phone I have seen which supports this.
These are just a few points which I remember right now. But the phone is sheer brilliance. Clearly the best phone I have used.
I have updated the ROM as well as the kernel, though not an official one. The phone has surely become a lot faster than how it was, which makes the phone usage experience a even better.

Shot at Kyra Theater, Bangalore
This is one of my favourite pictures from my recent shots. I shot this at Kyra Theater during Kryptos’s live video recording their upcoming DVD release called, “Alive In The Krypt”.
Honestly, Kryptos is not really my favourite band or anything, but I really respect the band for sticking together for a long time in a country like India where metal music has/had absolutely no scope or the deserved respect and have come a long way.
Salute!

Shot at Baghmane Tech Park, CV Raman Nagar, Bangalore
Thought I’ll put up this picture. This was my very first low shutter speed shot after I got my very first camera during my very first attempt at photography
It felt so awesome after I saw how the picture had come out. Thats when I REALLY wanted to take up photography as a serious hobby

Shot on my way to Madikeri
I was on my way to Madikeri with my colleagues to attend a wedding. It was around 8ish in the morning when we stopped for tea somewhere in the middle of nowhere. We saw this old lady sitting at the shop. She was very happy to see us as one of my colleagues reminded her of her ‘late’ son. She was very kind enough to have posed for this photograph, and here we are with the best portrait I have shot till date.
